Christine Gervais, CPL, ATC
President and CEO, Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA)
Christine Gervais is a passionate aviator and STEAM champion. Christine has more than 25 years of experience in the field of aviation as a commercial pilot, air traffic controller and airspace manager with NAV CANDA.
Christine began her adventure in aviation 25 years ago in a Cessna 150 and it was love at first flight. After earning her commercial licence, a follow up float endorsement lead to the start of her professional aviation career flying the de Havilland Beaver in Northern Ontario. Christine’s commercial pilot career has spanned the globe including time working in Canada’s North, Africa and South America.
In 2006, after two years working as a corporate pilot, she made the decision to hang up her professional wings to have more time on the ground with her young son. Christine then joined NAV CANADA working out of its Ottawa control tower for nearly a decade before taking on her role in airspace level of service management.
In 2020, Christine began a new chapter and became the first woman President and CEO of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association in its 69-year history. Christine recently purchased a Cessna 172 which she looks forward to sharing with her son, now 16 years old.
