Le Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau
Thanks to the support of Youth Fund donors, underprivileged children from le Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau enjoyed an amazing visit to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum.
Here’s what they shared about the impact the experience had:
“It is with great pleasure that we extend our thanks for the fantastic work done this summer which allowed Le Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau (CPSG) to bring vulnerable children for a visit to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum to experience the Culinary Camp.
As you know, for six years now, Le Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau has been rigorously following the approach developed by Dr Gilles Julien, along with a team of 3 physicians and 14 psychosocial workers. We are committed to promoting the health, development, and respect for the rights of our children through individualized medical treatments, individual and group follow-ups, along with providing a variety of activities and programs tailored to their needs.
Your contribution exemplifies a community concerned with its children’s future. The generosity of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation Foundation’s Youth Fund, along with your work in particular, was of great support to the CPSG in its fight against the toxic effects of chronic stress caused by extreme poverty to which our children are exposed daily. You gave them the opportunity to explore the world in a play-based environment that made learning easy and fun.
We believe that it takes a village to raise a child. Thank you for your contribution, and we hope to work together with you again in the future.”
